Sell more than one product. Sell items that compliment each other. This way you can upsell your other items. Answer:

Actually, what I would recommend, before you start selling is to start buying. This will give you an advantage. What you'd want to do is to get your feedback score up very quickly. A great way of doing this is by buying on eBay. You only want to buy one item per eBay ID, because only the first transaction with another eBay user counts.

A great item to buy is information products. Type in the word "e-book" and you'll find a lot of people who are selling different e-books. The cool thing is that there normally is no shipping. What you can do is buy these item for as low as 99 cents with no shipping cost and quickly build up your feedback. Do that first before you start selling. People will feel a lot more confident shopping from you.

So what products can I recommend? As a newbie, go to your local thrift store. You can quite often find and buy items there with tags people have bought and never worn. Of course you can always sell products that you have around the house. That's always a good way of making some extra money and getting practice too, so that you know what you are doing. Another way is to visit flea markets or to sell other people's products.

  • Where do I get products to sell?

  Answer:

There is a spectrum of suppliers.

On one end you have the liquidations, close-outs, shelf pulls, overstock market.The prices are great. I’ve actually seen nice products for 5 to 10 cents on the dollar. They might be last year’s model, but that doesn’t necessarily matter. Your risk however is much higher. So on one end we have low prices, high risk.

At the other end of the model we have dropshippers. With them you have no/ minimal risk, but you don’t make much money. In between you have wholesalers. The risk is less than liquidation, closeout, etc., but you make more money than what you do with dropshipping. Almost my entire business has been with the wholesalers. There is a huge demand for liquidation, closeout, etc. and if your risk tolerance is high, you might want to look further into it.
